CALL PARSON ON HIS BUL****

“NO ONE WANTS TO WORK BECAUSE THEY GET MORE ON UNEMPLOYMENT!”

Let’s see the proof of these claims:

Were these positions chronically understaffed before the shut down?

Does this position actually pay what is advertised and do they pay payroll? (IE are they paying into unemployment?)

How do they know the people turning down the jobs are on unemployment?

Where do they advertise their jobs? EDD website? Indeed? Monster? Social Media?

How many responses have they gotten?

How many had the necessary skills?

How many people were offered the position?

How many did they interview? (In other words, how many people are they automatically disqualifying?)

And the May 2019 payroll, how many people were on it and how many labor hours were there?  Compared to now?

The Republicans are using an alleged “worker shortage” as an excuse to end federal unemployment in Missouri.

It is a lie. The maximum unemployment benefit in Missouri is $320 a week. With the $300 extra federal the total is $620 week.  $620 a week is $15.50 an hour for 40 hours.

Ask Parson to show us the breakdown of workers by pay and occupation, and by county, receiving federal unemployment funds.  Statistics can always be skewed, but neither the unemployment figures nor the “jobs added” back up the “worker shortage” claim. Jobs report April 2021: Hiring boom goes bust (cnbc.com)

For some it might be more, and for some it is the same, and for others it is less, but we need it.  These federal funds have kept our state economy strong!

And we already paid for it!

This is taxpayer money, not GOP money!

CALL

GOVERNOR PARSON

AND DEMAND

FEDERAL UNEMPLOYMENT

REMAIN IN PLACE!

573-751-3222

McDonald’s workers are on strike May 19th!

It turns out our society considers fast food workers and janitors and cooks and truck and delivery drivers ESSENTIAL! What we don’t need are Republican Governors and State Senators, Executives, or CEOs.

We deserve $15 an hour and a union, plus benefits, guaranteed hours, sick leave, and holiday pay!

If we organized a General Strike in solidarity, or on another day, we would win a living wage for working people in this country!

NOW IS THE TIME!
